Masi - Serego Alighieri Vaio Armaron Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2011 750ml
$149.99 price per bottle

Winter snows and spring showers promoted normal growth with the vines. Temperatures were above average until the end of September, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and healthily, and harvesting to take place 10 days earlier than normal. The vineyards have all provided crops of excellent quality, with slightly lower yields than the previous year. Sharp drops in temperature at the beginning of September and good diurnal temperature variations led to excellent aromatic qualities in Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. Acidity and sugar concentrations were high. Harvesting began on the 21st of September with the Rondinella variety. TASTING NOTE Deep ruby red in colour, almost impenetrable. Elegant bouquet of marasca cherry conserve and cherries preserved in spirit accompanied by hints of chocolate and cinammon. Full bodied on the palate, complex and well balanced; the tannins stand out but are soft and silky. Long finish with hints of red fruit conserve and sweet spices. FOOD PAIRING Ideal with red meats, roasts, and other richly-flavoured dishes. Excellent paired with strong cheeses (such as parmesan, pecorino etc. ). A noble after-dinner wine.
