Glenrothes
Glenrothes distillery was founded in 1878 in Rothes (not the town of Glenrothes in Fife!) near Aberlour. The town is also the home to Glen Grant, Glen Spey and Speyburn distilleries.
Glenrothes has had a remarkably smooth life, unlike many other distilleries. Glenrothes has had no major ownership changes and frequent closures. Instead it has steadily grown to the point where it now owns ten stills. In 2018 the entire range was revamped and four new bottlings with age statements were released.
