Tullamore DEW
The Tullamore D.E.W. brand story begins with a distillery founded in Tullamore, Ireland, in 1829 by Michael Molloy. It evolved under the management of Daniel E. Williams, a former stable boy who became the distillery manager and modernized the town, giving the whiskey its name from his initials: Tullamore D.E.W. After the original distillery closed in 1954, the brand was sold and the whiskey was produced elsewhere before returning to Tullamore with a new distillery built in 2014.
