Menfo, Sicily, Italy Grapes are sourced from the vineyards of Menfi and Sambuca di Sicilia and Noto. Wine maker notes The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed, then macerate on the skins for 10–14 days. After racking, the wine is kept in stainless steel vessels until bottling.

Producer Founded in 1995, Planeta is a ‘Journey through Sicily. ’ A journey through 6 distinct wine estates from west to east, that proceeds from Sambuca di Sicilia and Menfi as far as Vittoria, Noto and Etna. Six ‘boutique wineries,’ each inspired by the particular requirements of the vineyards; Ulmo at Sambuca di Sicilia, Dispensa at Menfi, Dorilli at Vittoria, Buonivini at Noto, Sciara Nuova on Etna at Castiglione di Sicilia, and the new winery, La Baronia at Capo Milazzo. Each one inspired and constructed in harmony with its surroundings and dedicated to its terroir.
