In 2000, Dom Perignon Oenotheque, French for wine library, was launched as the collection of old vintages of chef de cave Richard Geoffroys private cellars. The Oenotheque label indicates that a Dom Perignon vintage has reached either its second peak in maturity, with optimal intensity, after a minimum of 12 years on the lees; or its third peak, with optimal complexity, after a minimum of 20 years on the lees. The three plenitudes of Dom Perignon were not always fully understood or emphasized. In order to bring plenitudes to the forefront for the consumer, the house launches P2 with the release of Dom Perignon P2 Vintage 1998. Dom Perignon P2 Vintage 1998 captures the spirit of the second plenitude: peak of energy, intensity, high definition, and precision.
