Producer The Domaine de l’Ile is located on the island of Porquerolles, the largest of the three islands known as “Iles d’Or” (”Gold Islands”) or “Iles d’Hyeres”, which are the most southern area in Provence, opposite the Giens peninsula. Among all, Porquerolles is renowned for the transparency of the surrounding sea, the whiteness of its beaches and the well protected beauty of its Mediterranean vegetation. Four plains gently unfold towards the North and the beaches from the southern cliffs, a combination of sandy, slaty, clay soils conductive to vine growing. The Domaine de l’Ile produces there rose, red and white wines under AOC Cotes de Provence which, thanks to the atypical character of the land - insularity, salty sea air and nearly 300 days of annual sunshine, stand out through their altogether mineral, powerful, iodised and harmonious personality. The Domaine de l’Ile vineyards cover some 34 hectares (84 acres) of the Breganconnet and Notre-Dame plains.
