A more affordable replacement for the now delisted 10 year old Hakushu and is a summery and fresh delight of a malt. Nose: Pink grapefruit, galia melon, green tropical fruit, cucumber, fresh mint, summery barley fields. Palate: Clean and crisp with citrus, melon, cucumber, ginger spice, green apples and dried apricot. Finish: Crisp and almost wine like (think New Zealand sauvignon Blanc) gooseberry, tangy lime curd and white pepper. An elegant pine forest of a whisky that would go down very nicely in the summer months.
