The varietal composition is 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Piccini's estate properties, which include their Montalcino estate, have been converted to organic farming. The wine is aged for a minimum of five years before release, including at least two years in oak. Optimal drinking can be after 2023 or 2024, depending on the vintage.
