Produced by Bodegas Estefanía, located in the Bierzo Designation of Origin (DO), in the Castilla y León region of northwestern Spain. Bodegas Estefanía was founded in 1999 when the Frías Family converted an old creamery into a winery. The winery's flagship brand, 'Tilenus', is a tribute to Teleno, the ancient Celtiberian god of war, and the labels feature a Roman coin discovered in one of their vineyards, reflecting the region's Roman heritage. Bodegas Estefanía manages nearly 40 hectares of century-old vineyards with clay soils rich in minerals. The 'Ecologico' in the name signifies that the wine is from an organic wine producer, and the estate is currently in the organic certification process. Wine Description This wine is a single-varietal red made from 100% Mencía grapes.
