$80.00 price per bottle
From the northeastern edge of Italy, this white blend hails from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, renowned for its elegant and expressive white wines. Le Vigne di Zamo, the producer, is a celebrated family-run estate founded in 1978 in Rosazzo, a subregion of Colli Orientali del Friuli. Under the stewardship of the Zamo family, the winery is committed to crafting wines that reflect the region’s terroir through minimal intervention and a deep respect for tradition. Wine Description Borgogno Zamo Bianco 2023 is a luminous straw-yellow wine with greenish highlights. On the nose, it delivers fresh floral notes intertwined with citrus zest, green apple, and hints of wild herbs. The palate is crisp and lively, with flavours of pear, lemon peel, and white peach supported by a mineral backbone and balanced acidity. Light to medium-bodied, it finishes clean with a whisper of almond and salinity that invites another sip. This blend typically includes local varietals such as Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Sauvignon Blanc, which together provide freshness, aromatic depth, and textural finesse. Best enjoyed young, within 2–3 years of vintage. Food Pairing Ideal alongside delicate seafood dishes such as grilled prawns, calamari, or steamed mussels, as well as spring vegetable risottos or goat cheese salads. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
