Produced since 1945 by the winery, Cannubi is one the best crus from the village of Barolo. It tends to be more approachable and elegant even when young, making it fairly unique. Only 20% of the soil is composed of clay, with 45% sand and 35% limestone. Damilano owns several hectares here and so they are able to select the best grapes. Aromas of violet, dried flower and potpourri introduce an extremely fresh palate with pomegranate fruit and meaty depth. The wine flows with velvety and creamy texture thanks to the combination of great ripeness from the vintage and the characteristics of the cru itself. The wine is deliciously balanced by refreshing acidity. Drink now-2040.
Cannubi is considered the Grand Cru vineyard for the Barolo, an extraordinary wine in terms of style and elegance. At first sight, what is most striking is its ruby red color with hints of maroon and orange reflections, and an ample, enveloping scent, with clear fruit notes of cherry and plum, and herbal notes of tobacco, liquorish, and cocoa. The wine embraces the palate with a harmonic, pleasantly dry flavor, with soft tannins and a perceivable body and completeness.
