A mature Rioja with cedar, dried leaves, dried cherries and leather. Medium-bodied and spicy with drying tannins, but the oak and ripeness are not overdone. Intriguing history in a bottle. Drink now.
Made from a selection of the very best Tempranillo grapes from over 40 year old vines used for the production of Reserva and Gran Reserva wines. Aged 15 months in American oak casks and released early before Reserva status, but with all the qualities of Urbina's Reserva wines. Intense, dark ruby red, very concentrated nose of berries, damsons, and figs, full-bodied, rich fruit cake and savoury vanilla flavors on the palate, well-structured, mellow, firm tannins with the fine elegance of the Urbina marque.
